INSTRUCTIONS To implement a 2-step order process and capture "hot" leads in Aweber please do the following things in order: ***** Step 1 ***** Setup an Aweber "hotlist" for prospects who fill out the first step of order form - Give the list a name that you can remember. - in Aweber go to "my lists" and select "confirmed opt-in" - Turn off confirmed opt-in. You want this to be a single opt-in list. - Setup a default message for the list. You must send an email to your list the very moment they sign up. I use something simple like this: Subject: {!firstname_fix} - Thanks for your interest in Talking to Toddlers Body: Hello {!firstname_fix}, This is a quick courtesy email from TalkingToToddlers.com You filled out the first half of the order form, and in case you encounter any problems, errors, or questions with the financial portion of the order form, please let us know. We take customer care very seriously and we want to make sure that you are taken care of. If you have any questions, just ask. All the best, Your Name http://YourSite.com ***** Step 2 ***** Create a CUSTOMER LIST if you have not already done so. - Give the list a name that you can remember. - in Aweber go to "my lists" and select "confrimed opt-in" - Turn off confirmed opt-in. You want this to be a single opt-in list. - Setup a series of emails to send to your customers. Do this however you like. ***** Step 3 ***** Setup List Automation. You want to make sure that when customers are added to your customer list they are automatically removed from your hotlist. - Go to "my lists" in Aweber and select "Automation" - Make sure your hotlist is selected from the drop-down menu at top left. - Add a new rule. Unsubscribe from "hotlist" when prospect added to "customer list" - All done. Side note: If you have a "prospect" list you may also want to unsubscribe them when they become a customer. This is what I do. I have a "free lesson" that I give out. After customers buy, I remove them from hotlist and "prospect" list. This way they won't see promotional emails for something they already bought. ***** Step 4 ***** Setup your pre-order form. - Grab the file "order-step1.html" - Modify the HTML content to your liking so it looks pretty. - I've given you a graphic "step-1.png" to help make it look nice. - Change the HTML within the
and
tags to make sure that YOUR proper information is in there for list name and the redirect file. - Upload the file to your web server. You might want to organize it within a subfolder to keep things easy for you. (the redirect file is where Aweber will send your customer after they hit "next") ***** Step 5 ***** Modify the file "cborder-redirect.php" - open the file. - replace "vendor_id" with your clickbank vendor ID - make sure the first digit (default = 1) is the clickbank product number you want. - If you are using DLGuard, make sure you modify the file "cborder-redirect-DLG.php" and make sure to replace the "x" in "dlgp=x" with whatever DLG product number you are selling. DLG users, if you don't do this your customers will get an error. Upload the file to your server. ***** Step 6 ***** Prepare your download page. - Whatever you are using already can just be modified. - You must change the extension of your download page to .php if you are using .html - If you use DLG, leave it as .html (it has to be html to work with DLG) - Open the appropriate file "download-page-example.php" or "download-page-example-DLG.html" - Replace Yourdomain.com with your actual domain. - Make it look pretty however you like and then upload it to your server. - If you have changed the name to a .php extension make sure you update your product in clickbank to reflect this new name of the download page. Otherwise customers get an error. ***** Step 7 ***** Prepare the customer opt-in form. - Open the file "iframe-form.php" - Look for "your-aweber-list-name" and replace it with your actual aweber list name. - Change the references to YourDomain.com so they match your actual website. - You may want to change other HTML aspects of this file to your liking. Go ahead. - Upload it to your server. - Make sure you also upload the file "iframe-thanks.html" to your server. You don't need to modify that file at all unless you want to. ALL DONE! The only thing left for you to do is write follow-up messages in your Aweber account to send to your hotlist. If you don't do this you're defeating the purpose of the work. I suggest you contact them after 2 days of being on the hotlist, then after 4 days and finally after 6 days. After that I recommend you DO NOT contact them since they really didn't "opt-in" to your list at all. You can write your own emails to the list. The first email should ask them if everything is OK, and offer help. Give them the link to buy. The second email should be similar to the first. The third email might be a good time to offer a discount to get them to buy.
